\u201cI registered for my first SID meeting at the suggestion of Paul Khavari. At the time, we were both conducting postdoctoral research at Stanford, and, as a PhD scientist, I had never heard of the SID. I followed Paul\u2019s advice, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.<\/p>\n
In the SID, I found a welcoming and vibrant community whose interests matched beautifully with my own. Why Attend the SID Annual Meeting?<\/h6>\n
\u201cI registered for my first SID meeting at the suggestion of Paul Khavari. At the time, we were both conducting postdoctoral research at Stanford, and, as a PhD scientist, I had never heard of the SID. I followed Paul\u2019s advice, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.<\/h4>\n
In the SID, I found a welcoming and vibrant community whose interests matched beautifully with my own. Over the years, I have benefitted from being a member in countless ways, including keeping abreast of the latest science in the field, identifying new collaborators,\u202flearning and practicing leadership skills,\u202festablishing life-long friendships, and simply having fun with others who share my passion for skin research.\u201d<\/h4>\n

\u201cAttending the SID annual meeting was a turning point in my career. It gave me my first opportunity to present my research as a graduate student. I vividly remember Dr. Dennis Roop chairing the sessio,n and meeting him led to a mentorship-at-large that has guided my career ever since. That same session introduced me to Dr. Angela Christiano, then also a graduate student, and we bonded over D.r John Stanley\u2019s many questions that kept every one of us at the podium. <\/p>\n
